#IndianRailways | Railway Electrification Accelerates India’s Infrastructure Growth

Indian Railways' electrification journey has witnessed a remarkable transformation over the past decade.

According to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, railway electrification was progressing at around 700–800 kilometres annually before 2014. Today, that pace has increased to nearly 6,000–7,000 kilometres each year, with approximately 99.4% of the national railway network now electrified.

The achievement marks a significant step towards faster, cleaner and more efficient rail transportation, while strengthening India's infrastructure and sustainability goals.
