SA not at risk of Hantavirus outbreak: Motsoaledi

Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi has called on the public to trust health authorities to handle the hantavirus outbreak including the World Health Organisation and the National Institute for Communicable Diseases.

Motsoaledi says evidence presented to the department by the NICD and the WHO, suggests that the virus is unlikely to spread the same way as Covid19.

The Minister was the keynote speaker at the International Nurses Day commemoration at kuGompo city in the Eastern Cape.

In his address, Motsoaledi thanked the nurses for their unwavering commitment to the profession despite unfavourable conditions including understaffing.
