Floodwaters from Typhoon Bavi sweep vehicles away in China

Cars were swept away by floodwaters in Hebei province after heavy rain associated with Typhoon Bavi, the strongest storm to hit mainland China this year. Eyewitness video captured vehicles being carried away by fast-moving floodwaters in Chengde city on Sunday (Jul 12). Authorities issued a red alert for heavy rain and urged residents to stay indoors. Although Bavi has weakened after making landfall, forecasters warn it could continue to bring heavy rain and raise flood risks across parts of eastern and northern China. #china #chinanews
