China cranks up solar thermal power station in one of its coldest regions #coolchina

China switched on its northernmost solar thermal power station Monday in Da'an, Jilin Province. The 100-megawatt station marks a breakthrough for the technology in high-latitude, freezing climates. Its eight-hour molten salt storage means the station can generate clean electricity day and night.
