If anyone is wondering, his speech and face shape is due to a cleft palate. The two sides of the top palate don’t close all the way during development. It’s been repaired, but his palate isn’t long enough to close off his nasal cavity while speaking, so air escapes through his nose constantly. This makes him sound nasal.
