Parliament raises the alarm over the abuse of Traffic Register Numbers (TRNs)

The Portfolio Committee on Transport and the Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs have sounded the alarm on what they call the abuse of the Traffic Register Numbers.

They say, South Africa's Traffic Register Number (TRN) system, which is designed to allow foreign nationals to legally drive and register vehicles, has been widely exploited by criminal syndicates and undocumented migrants.

Donald Selamolela is the Chairperson of Parliament's Portfolio Committee of Transport, and he joins the show to elaborate further.
