More charges are likely to be added against top SAPS officials currently in court for alleged involvement in the awarding of a R228 million controversial tender to alleged crime kingpin, Vusimusi "Cat" Matlala's company.

And more arrests are likely.

The state revealed this as suspended Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola and others appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates' Court for their alleged role in the dodgy deal.

This follows Matlala allegedly naming higher ranking officials in an affidavit - in exchange for a lenient sentence.

This after he pleaded guilty to money laundering, corruption and fraud - and turned state witness.
