I disagree with leaning into the data center/AI while not being able to improve water quality and food safety. For what are we lacking that "data centers" are the solution? For what in our current world is computational speed a solution? Does storing the contents of my cell phone benefit humanity? Does tracking my bank account benefit humanity? Does constant surveillance of southern and northern borders benefit humanity? Increasing use of data centers, computational speed, financial immediance, social media, should only be for one reason, BENEFIT HUMANITY. I personally believe slowing down dependency on immediance would benefit humanity. Or maybe slowing down dependence, destruction, human failure. Building a data center to hold the contents of my phone, changes to my phone, location of my phone, cloud storage, how to track my human preferences, purchases, habits, and not understanding that I would PREFER you didn't seems counterintuitive.

All data centers are an exploitation of our natural resources and increase their personal wealth while receiving more tax breaks and creating very few jobs - keep labor costs low.
