The Department of Telecommunications has introduced the Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI) to help prevent cyber fraud. Phone numbers linked to fraud complaints are marked as medium, high or very high risk. Banks and payment apps receive these alerts and can stop suspicious transactions. Report unknown payments or mule-account activity immediately on 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in.
