Fufe Makatong appointed as NCPL Speaker

The Northern Cape Provincial Legislature convened today to elect a new Speaker following the vacancy created by the appointment of former Speaker Newrene Klaaste to the provincial executive.

Fufe Makatong was appointed unopposed to take over as Speaker.

The election follows Premier Zamani Saul's recent cabinet reshuffle, which saw Klaaste move from the legislature into the executive.
