Battle for Balobedu throne to be heard in court

The High Court in Pretoria is set to be the battleground for the Balobedu throne over the next two days.

The court is set to hear an application for the setting aside of President Cyril Ramaphosa's official recognition of Queen Masalanabo Modjadji the Seventh as Balobedu Monarch.

The President is expected to oppose the legal challenge, which was launched by the Queen's brother, Prince Lekukela Modjadji, alongside some members of the royal family.
