Government moves to allay fears over higher education funding crisis

The government has sought to calm fears of a crisis in the higher education sector due to the transition to a new university funding model, which has resulted in delayed disbursement of funds to support students. Higher Education Principal Secretary Dr. Beatrice Inyangala says over 195, 000 first-year students have already reported to universities even as the government finalizes the new funding arrangement.
