Nepal flood death toll crosses 1,000 as hundreds remain trapped

Decode With Sudhir Chaudhary: Nearly a week after devastating floods and flash floods struck Nepal, the death toll has crossed 1,000, leaving a massive trail of destruction across towns and Himalayan valleys. Nepali rescuers are building temporary bridges to reach remote areas and digging through the ruins of damaged hydropower projects to rescue trapped workers. Around 600 people are still believed to be stranded at several devastated hydropower stations, while Prime Minister Balendra Shah says more than 11,000 people have been rescued.

Decode With Sudhir Chaudhary: नेपाल में विनाशकारी बाढ़ और फ्लैश फ्लड के करीब एक हफ्ते बाद भी तबाही का मंजर भयावह बना हुआ है और मृतकों की संख्या 1,000 के पार पहुंच गई है। दूरदराज के हिमालयी इलाकों में फंसे लोगों तक पहुंचने के लिए नेपाली राहतकर्मी अस्थायी पुल बना रहे हैं और तबाह Hydropower Projects के मलबे में फंसे मजदूरों को निकालने के लिए बड़े पैमाने पर Rescue Operation चला रहे हैं। कई Hydropower Stations में करीब 600 लोग अब भी फंसे हुए बताए जा रहे हैं, जबकि प्रधानमंत्री Balendra Shah के अनुसार 11,000 से ज्यादा लोगों को बचाया जा चुका है।
