Stonemasons in Gauteng are questioning what people are actually paying for when purchasing burial plots and tombstone permits, as cemeteries across the province are left vulnerable to vandalism and theft. Shouldn't that money be going towards maintaining these graveyards? They add that City Parks citing budget constraints simply doesn't add up. This as the SAFTII Gravesite Watch launches its Johannesburg chapter, an initiative aimed at mitigating the cemetery vandalism crisis across the country.
