Today marks a year since a military clad KZN top cop, Lt-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi took the nation into confidence over an alleged infiltration in the criminal justice system by alleged drug cartels. These allegations that sent shockwaves through the nation, would give birth to the Commission of Inquiry into allegations of criminality, political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system. This probe which is now known as the Madlanga Commission would unearth the extent of the alleged rot in the criminal justice system.
