Gauteng Education Department condemns brutal killing of Soweto learner

The Gauteng Education Department (GDE) has condemned the brutal killing of an 18-year-old learner who was hacked to death by a rival gang with a panga.

Police say the learner at Forth Hare Secondary School in Meadowlands, was attacked yesterday. He later succumbed to his injuries at a local health facility.

Education officials have called for calm in the area, and have urged police to bring the perpetrators to book.
