पश्चिम बंगाल में 29 अप्रैल को दूसरे चरण का मतदान संपन्न हो गया। इसके साथ ही दोनों चरणों में कुल 92.52% मतदान दर्ज हुआ है, जो अब तक का रिकॉर्ड स्तर है।

आंकड़ों के अनुसार, पहले कभी भी राज्य में 84.72% से अधिक मतदान नहीं हुआ था, लेकिन इस बार बंगाल ने नया इतिहास रच दिया। इतना ही नहीं, यह आंकड़ा देशभर में किसी भी राज्य में हुए मतदान से ज्यादा बताया जा रहा है।

इससे पहले रिकॉर्ड Tripura के नाम था, जहां 2013 में 91.82% मतदान हुआ था।
