The North West Umbrella Fire Protection Association has warned religious and traditional healers against inadvertently causing runaway veldfires through candles, ritual fires and unattended flames.

In their awareness campaign during the International African Medicine Day celebrations in Schweizer-Reneke, the Association highlighted the dangers posed by unattended fires, especially during this peak fire season.
