Taiwan 'ghost' festival remembers fallen French soldiers  | DW News

To honor around 600 French soldiers who died during the Sino-French War in 1885 in fortifications near Taiwan, Keelung residents burned a paper warship and prepared a feast with baguettes and wine for the spirits during "Ghost Month."
