His Uzbekistan visit continued this tradition with a floral tribute to former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri in Tashkent.

Since 2014, PM Modi has also unveiled or paid tribute at statues and memorials of Indian icons across countries including the US, Australia, Germany, South Africa, Japan, Italy, Ukraine, Argentina and Seychelles.

These tributes and memorials serve as a means of showcasing India’s cultural heritage, values, peace and message of humanity to the world.
