Tashkent Talks Strengthen India-Uzbekistan Partnership

As you are aware, PM @narendramodi arrived in Tashkent yesterday evening and was warmly received at the airport by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. As part of his program yesterday, Prime Minister laid a wreath at the Independence Monument at Yangi Uzbekistan Park. Later in the evening, President hosted Prime Minister for a private dinner. On arrival at the hotel, Prime Minister was also accorded a very warm welcome by the members of the Indian community in Uzbekistan last night. Prime Minister had a ceremonial welcome at Presidential Palace today morning. This was followed by official engagements where Prime Minister Modi and the President held delegation-level talks with the participation of other ministers also in the delegation talks.The two leaders reviewed the full spectrum of India-Uzbekistan bilateral relations and discussed ways to further strengthen and expand the partnership. Uzbekistan is an important partner for India in the SCO, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, and the United Nations, and is also a partner country at the BRICS: Sibi George, Secretary (West), @MEAIndia
