Exclusive animation: Why rescue is difficult after Nepal glacier collapse triggers mudslide

An exclusive animation explains four major challenges facing rescuers after a devastating mudslide triggered by a high-altitude glacier collapse in Nepal struck Gyirong Port in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on August 26.

The fast-moving debris flow traveled more than 20 kilometers and descended nearly 3,300 meters, leaving a vast search area, destroyed roads, steep terrain and severe constraints on aerial operations.
