Iceland votes on restarting European Union membership talks

Voters in Iceland are deciding whether to resume talks to join the European Union. Polling ahead of the referendum found support was split, making the result closely watched. The government has said a “no” vote would settle the question for a generation, potentially putting further discussion of EU membership on hold for years.
