Astana's fully automated driverless light rail system is bringing digital technology into everyday urban travel. Launched on May 16, its first phase spans 22.4 kilometers and includes 18 stations, with big data and the Internet of Things supporting operations.
Kazakh rail employees also received practical training in Tianjin, China. Against the backdrop of growing SCO cooperation in the digital economy, the project illustrates how technology, expertise and skills are moving between member states.
