Bester's lawyer tells court his client has been abused in prison

The Free State High Court in Bloemfontein will sit for a separate pre-trial hearing for rape and murder convict, Thabo Bester, and co-accused, Dr Nandipha Magudumana.

The court has decided to excuse the other seven accused from proceedings until April next year, while Bester and Magudumana address their interlocutory matters.

The date will be determined once defence lawyers have consulted with their clients.
Judge Lani Opperman said a pre-trial sitting will be arranged before January.
