Alleged kingpin Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala and suspended EMPD Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi are in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
They are facing charges of corruption, fraud and defeating the ends of justice.
This after Mkhwanazi allegedly unlawfully registered cars, he received from Matlala - under the Ekurhuleni municipality and fitted them with sirens and blue lights.
