India and Uzbekistan share deep people-to-people ties, with more than 16,000 Indian students and four Indian university campuses in #Uzbekistan. The two countries also cooperate closely in multilateral forums, including the SCO and the United Nations, with Uzbekistan also a partner country of India in BRICS. During the state visit, PM @narendramodi will hold bilateral engagements with the President, followed by a banquet lunch hosted in his honour. He will also pay tribute at the Shastri Memorial and visit Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, home to the Mahatma Gandhi Centre, where he will interact with Indologists and scholars: Sibi George, @MEAIndia Secretary (West)
