The South African Local Government Association (SALGA) is looking to appoint external consultants to help tackle the growing municipal consumer debt crisis, now estimated at approximately R467.2 billion.

The initiative seeks to address revenue losses, improve dysfunctional billing systems and strengthen debt collection across municipalities.
