The Madlanga Commission's bid to test the alleged proximity of alleged cartel member, Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala, to high-ranking generals such as Major-General Lesetja Senona, and suspended Deputy National Commissioner, Lt-General Shadrack Sibiya, has not been easy.
But Matlala's invocation of his Section 35 rights did not stop him from confirming allegations that suspended Deputy National Commissioner, Lt-General Shadrack Sibiya, was collecting money through alleged middleman Sgt Fannie Nkosi.
Matlala, however, drew the line on answering questions on the source of the money, and whether or not it was businessman, Steve Motsumi, as KZN Lt-Gen Mkhwanazi alleged in his version of the meeting at the Pearls in Umhlanga, KZN.
