Former IRGC Commander: US sanctions won't affect Iran, except psychologically

Military analyst and former IRGC Commander Hossein Kanani Moghaddam dismissed the impact of the new US sanctions on Iran's economy in an exclusive interview with CGTN.

"First of all, we will break the blockade," Moghaddam said, adding that "even if we do not sell a single drop of oil for up to 10 years, we will face no problems in terms of foreign currency resources." Moghaddam said the sanctions would affect Iran only psychologically, such as through stock market and price volatility. Asked how Iran might respond to the sanctions, he said, "If we cannot export oil, no one else will be able to export it either." #iran #unitedstates #middleeast
