Western Cape Police Commissioner, Sizakhele Dyantyi has arrived at the scene where a police officer was shot dead in Knysna this morning. The 50-year old Captain was part of the Provincial Task team deployed to the town following the killing of three ANC members last week. Police were conducting an operation regarding illegal firearms at Sewende Laan informal settlement when when a shootout broke. A 38year old suspect was also shot dead.
