What Quebec's new premier was hoping to accomplish with her visit to Washington

Two weeks after becoming Quebec’s premier, Christine Fréchette wanted to show Quebecers she was not wasting time dealing with the trade war with the U.S. She just came back from a trade mission in Washington and named a former diplomat as emissary for the province in CUSMA renewal negotiations. Experts say influence in this context is everything, but Quebec's opposition parties want to see results.
