The Australian energy market operator is warning data centres will consume 13 per cent of the energy supplied into the grid in 10-years time, up from 3 per cent.
It comes as the number of data centres in development since 2025 more than doubled from 97 to 225. The National Cabinet will meet to discuss the concerns.
