Stuart Scharnick case postponed to 1 September

The case against businessman Stuart Scharnick has been postponed to the 1st of September, as the state still needs further information before deciding whether to oppose bail.

Scharnick was arrested on Friday on the sidelines of Fadiel Adams' testimony at the Madlanga Commission following a confrontation with a Sowetan journalist.

Scharnick made a brief appearance at the Randburg Magistrate's Court earlier today where he faces charges of contravening the Firearms Control Act.
