Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye’s court absence leads to warrant of arrest

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says it's ready to proceed with the case against media personality Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye, during the next court appearance on September 7 September, in the Germiston Magistrates' Court.

The postponement follows his failure to appear in court due to alleged ill health, prompting the issuing of a warrant of arrest, which was later held over until his next appearance.

Maarohanye faces charges of discharging a firearm in a public place, and pointing anything likely to lead a person to believe it is a firearm.

The charges stem from an incident involving an e-hailing driver in Edenvale, east of Johannesburg, in June.
