TRC Cases | Lamola reflects on Batohi’s handling of interference claims

Former Justice Minister Ronald Lamola, says with hindsight he believes that NDPP Shamila Batohi could have investigated allegations of political interference with the NPA's work when she took office in 2019.

Lamola, who served in the role from May 2019 to June 2024 said this under cross examination by the families of victims of apartheid-era human rights violations on day 76 of the public hearings at the TRC Cases Inquiry in Newtown, Johannesburg.
