SA secures Foot and Mouth Disease vaccines from Argentina

South Africa has secured a significant flow of Foot and Mouth Disease vaccines from Argentina.

This, as the Department of Agriculture works to have 80-percent of the country's national herd vaccinated by December.

Agriculture Minister, John Steenhuisen, is on a working trip to South America, where he plans talks with both Argentina and Brazil to enhance agricultural trade.

They will also discuss how these countries dealt with FMD, with a view to adopting their best practices to the SADC region and, possibly, across the continent.
