Can JB become more walkable before the RTS crowds arrive?

Johor Bahru is preparing for more commuters when the RTS Link opens. But navigating the city centre on foot can still be a challenge. Pedestrians face busy roads and a cityscape largely designed around cars.

Authorities are planning elevated walkways linking Bukit Chagar station to major destinations, including JB Sentral and Komtar JBCC. But urban planning experts say building new connections is only part of the solution — maintaining existing pedestrian spaces will also be key to making the city more walkable.
