March and March Movement says govt is failing to address issue of undocumented foreign nationals

A civic group has accused government of failing to adequately address the issue of undocumented foreign nationals in South Africa.

The March and March Movement took its anti‑illegal immigration protest to the Union Buildings in Pretoria, where members handed over a memorandum outlining a series of demands aimed at strengthening border control, and enforcing immigration laws.

The movement claims that undocumented foreign nationals are dominating township economies, allegedly using fraudulent documentation to operate businesses.

Some of the group's previous demonstrations, particularly in the Eastern Cape and Durban, have been linked to intimidation and violence, raising concerns about xenophobic motives.

Organisers insist their actions are peaceful, and directed at government policy, not individuals.
