Singapore AI fraud: Rise of deepfake videos to scam people

Singapore is seeing a surge in deepfakes impersonating celebrities and leaders, fuelling AI fraud.

An AI-generated clip of a supposed government meeting with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong defrauded a victim of nearly $4 million, as officials warn the city-state is a testing ground.
