The death toll from a Russian drone strike on a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, has risen to 16, with another 130 people reported wounded.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the fire, which spread across 9,000 square meters, had been extinguished, but rescuers from seven Ukrainian regions and canine search teams were still clearing rubble and looking for survivors.
“Sadly, 16 people have now been confirmed killed and 130 injured, including 23 children,” Zelenskyy said in a post on Saturday morning.
The attack on Friday involved two strikes on the shopping center, with Ukrainian officials describing the second hit as a deliberate “double-tap” attack that came as emergency workers were responding to the first strike.
