UN concludes second straw poll for next SG

The UN Security Council has concluded its second secret straw poll, to narrow down the field of candidates competing to succeed Secretary-General António Guterres.

Eight official candidates are currently in the running to lead the global body, including a strong presence from Latin America, the region traditionally favored under the UN's rotational framework.
