A powerful storm tore through Bucharest and 20 counties across Romania on July 1, killing one person and flooding streets and metro stations in the capital. Emergency services reported nearly 2,000 calls for help in Bucharest alone, while police and firefighters worked to evacuate flooded homes and clear debris.
