The beleaguered North West Transport Investment, which provides bus services in North West and Gauteng, was at pains accounting for the continued deterioration of its services and it's failure to pay employee salaries. The NTI, which is wholly owned by the North West Provincial Government, appeared before the Provincial Legislature Portfolio Committee on Community Safety and Transport Management in Mahikeng. While government injected over 565 million rand in bail outs for the NTI and appointed a business rescue practitioner to help in the entity's recovery, its status has only deteriorated further. However, long-standing legal disputes between the provincial government and the business rescue practitioner have seemingly calmed with better corporation between both stakeholders.
