Section 89 Inquiry | MKP, UAT return to court

Both the United Africans Transformation and UMkhonto Wesizwe Party are returning back to the Western Cape High Court on Friday for a leave to appeal its earlier ruling.

This is after the court interdicted the Impeachment Committee proceedings pending the review of the Section 89 Independent Panel report.

The application to interdict the Impeachment Committee was filed by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The two parties together with others earlier appealed directly to the Constitutional Court, but the Concourt dismissed their applications.

UAT leader Dr Wonder Mahlatsi says this move is about defending Parliament's constitutional responsibilities.
