Church calls for IG Kanja's resignation over political goonism

The Church is now accusing the police of laxity and taking sides in the emerging 2027 political contests. The Church Association of Kenya has subsequently called for the resignation of Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja over failure to contain political goonism. The clergy says the violence witnessed in Homa Bay on Sunday is a warning of what could happen if political intolerance, hate speech and partisan policing are allowed to continue as the country heads towards the next General Election.
