#Poland's PM offers middle-class #tax relief

Donald Tusk has unveiled a new tax bracket targeting up to 3.5 million middle-income Poles whose rising wages have pushed them into a higher tax bracket.

The plan moves affected earners from a 32% rate to a new 24% bracket. Analysts say the move targets voters who backed Tusk in 2023 but have since grown disillusioned.

The catch: his flagship promise to double the tax-free income allowance remains undeliverable before 2028, with defense spending taking priority.
