At 15,200 feet, Indian Army personnel serve with dedication in one of the world’s most challenging high-altitude environments. Despite temperatures dropping to around -8°C to -10°C, low oxygen levels and heavy snowfall, specialised rations, heating facilities and essential support help soldiers stay prepared.

The troops also assist and guide tourists visiting Bum La, sharing the region’s history and the story of the 1962 Battle of Bum La.
