Suspected kingpin in guardrail theft appears in court

An alleged kingpin involved in a syndicate of removing millions' worth of guardrails in various road networks in KZN will appear in the KwaDukuza Magistrates' Court.

The removal of the guardrails has resulted in the death of innocent road users.

Last week, the Department of Transport said a special security team working with SAPS Organised Crime Unit members ensured the arrest of the kingpin suspected to be the main leader of the Guardrail Mafia.
