CPUT campus protest damage exceeds R1 million

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology says the damage to its various campuses amid student protests exceeds a million rand. The university says it hasn't taken the decision to close campuses and residences lightly.

Students have been protesting the university's Financial Recovery Plan for 2027. It has given students a deadline of 4pm today to evaluate residences.
